the love of God
The water, like glass below, as we click clack across the bridge, the sky an endless parchment with “The love of God” written in a script of clouds. My tiny form, beloved, rattling in this carriage from one end of the nation to the other window seat J38 — reserved just for me. Purple fields of wildflowers and early hay that’s been rolled into bales small pockets of trees dotting the fields no rise or hill in sight as we train through these flat-field-covered Midlands. Coldplay’s lyrics dancing across my mind as I read MacDonald and gaze thoughtfully out my mud-speckled window, and half listen to the conversation behind me. The love of God, so vast and wide yet, as I rattle down this track I know I'm cradled. Held. Safe. Such wondrous beauty in His creation each wildflower a echo of "I love you."
