More Adventures
another list!
Wow, how are we already nearly done with June?! I’ve been travelling the past two weeks, seeing old friends and revisiting some of my favourite places on the planet. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a minute to write up a proper post (I’ve got one percolating, though, so keep an eye out for something on joy soon!), so I thought I’d do another travel list. :)
Going through security in any country is basically a cross-cultural immersion program.
Walking places where Jesus would have walked is a surreal experience.
Languages are such fascinating things! The fact that so much of the world communicates through English is rather intriguing, and the reality that a lot of the world does not understand a word of English is equally interesting (and frustrating depending on the circumstances).
Spending an evening laughing, talking, and reminiscing with old friends is priceless.
Writing liturgies is sacred, scary stuff.
Playing Dutch Blitz on the airport floor is a
grossgreat way to pass time when waiting for a nonexistent gate number!Dealing with heat (up to 36 degrees Celsius) makes you desperate for a nap and some shade.
Beginning a new journal at the start of a trip is absolutely, delightfully satisfying (and makes me use double-ly adverbs apparently).
This is the first time in a bit where I’m ending a trip not quite knowing when I’ll next board a plane….that’s been a weird thing to process.
Watercolours do melt in the heat — it’s disappointing, but still makes for some fun art.
Reading a P.G. Wodehouse during the (rare) stressful moments of any adventure is brilliant — I just finished Uneasy Money and definitely laughed out loud at multiple points.
Music from other cultures is so fun!
Waiting years (for real) for a certain cup of coffee is worth it, despite the tears, longing and expectation.

May He grant you your heart’s desire and fulfil all your plans! May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the LORD fulfil all of your petitions! Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving might of His right hand.
Psalms 20:4-6
I’m so intrigued by all the exclamation points David used in that Psalm…maybe that’s another blog post.:)
Thanks for reading, friends, and keeping up with all of my adventures!

Dutch Blitz on the airport floor is THE BEST!!! It was the glue that held some of us together on a 7 hour layover for a 40 min flight 😂😅
I love it! I see a glimmer of my own experiences in that list. 😊
